Acne: Start from the inside out

Acne Transformation

Acne is rarely just about what you put on your skin. Learn how professional treatments, consistent home care, lifestyle habits, and patience work together to create healthier, clearer skin.

Acne is one of the most common skin concerns I see, but it is also one of the most misunderstood.

The biggest thing I want clients to understand is this: acne usually cannot be corrected with one facial, one peel, or one skincare product. Clearer skin comes from looking at the full picture and staying consistent.

At Eli & Co. Aesthetics, acne treatments are customized to the individual. Depending on the skin, a treatment plan may include detoxifying facials, DiamondGlow, BioRePeel, professional-grade skincare, and eventually treatments such as microchanneling once active breakouts are better controlled.

But what happens outside the treatment room matters too.

We talk about simple habits like changing pillowcases and towels regularly, avoiding picking at the skin, keeping phones and other frequently touched items clean, reviewing skincare products, and discussing lifestyle or dietary factors that may be contributing to inflammation.

Home care is also a major part of the process. Using the right products consistently gives the skin support between professional treatments and helps us build on the progress we are making in the treatment room.

Most importantly, acne takes time.

The goal is not to aggressively strip or constantly attack the skin. The goal is to support the skin barrier, reduce inflammation, address congestion, and create a plan that can realistically be maintained.

Once active acne is under better control, we can begin focusing more on what it may have left behind, including texture, discoloration, and acne scarring.

Healthy skin is a journey, and consistency will always be one of the most important parts of the process.
